Asian calligraphy set

This is a traditional East Asian calligraphy set in a wooden box with mother-of-pearl inlay (the bird and flowers) and Chinese characters. This type of set is used in traditional calligraphy practice, where ink is prepared fresh each time by grinding the ink stick on the ink stone.
