Before you read the rest, let's get something out of the way: If you want to pay $200 or less, then you can just go to your local home improvement shop and buy on there. Those are typically great, but have water bins you need to manually discard or pipe out. You can use a window unit to drip outside.  THIS IS A SELF-EVAPORATING UNIT meaning it works like your refrigerator. All water is evaporated so you do not have worry about water overflowing and messing up your room. This is the reason why it's expensive. Think of it as a refrigerator because it has no water you have to remove.  ___________________________________ We bought this while our central air broke and was getting repaired. Practically brand new and used at the most 4 days total. Cools very fast. but be sure to put the exhaust hose out the window. I put the exhaust hose up my chimney so it was no problem. Don't need to have a drain line because it's self-evaporating, but it does have a drain hose connection if you decide to drain it.
