Description

MIRIAM AXELROD Graduate of Pratt Institute, continued her studies at Art Student League and Brooklyn Museum Art School. In 1959, she received inter-American award for sculpture over 5,000 entries. She has exhibited at Contemporary Gallery, Molloy College, Adelphi College, Post College and Nassau Community College. She has also exhibited at the 1964 World's Fair Fine Arts Pavilion and the National Art Club with the Knickerbocker Artists and Audubon. She has had many 1 man shows, Kenmore Art Gallery, Philadelphia; Bklyn. College, Hofstra Univer-sity, Donnell Library, Awixa Art Center, and the Ceceile Art Gallery. She has also exhibited at National Arts Club, Contemporary Gallery, Village Art Center, and Guild Hall, East Hampton. She has also exhibited nationally. Her works are in the permanent collection Brooklyn College, Post College, Duncan Luce collection, Wilfred P. Cohen, L. I. Professor Charles Whipple and Nassau Community College. She is listed in Collectors of American Art and in 1959 received an Inter-American Award for sculp-ture. She has received 17 awards from 1(contact info removed).
