Description

Read the whole description!!! 2 available!! This is a Bitcoin Lottery miner which will happily sit on a shelf/desk, mining away at a steady 300gh/s, (+/- 5% or so) with the chance (see https://offerup.co/faYXKzQFnY?$deeplink_path=/redirect/ for realtime odds) of mining a bitcoin block, currently worth 6.25bitcoin. This unit is designed to be a show piece/conversation piece as well as a solo lottery bitcoin miner. The Solo Beast has been designed to be a solo miner, which means it is trying to solve a bitcoin block all by itself, meaning if it does, you get the full 6.25 bitcoin block reward. The unit will come preconfigured to solo mine at https://offerup.co/faYXKzQFnY?$deeplink_path=/redirect/ but obviously you are welcome to mine bitcoin at any pool of your choice. Full instructions on how to configure the miner to connect to your wifi network and set CGMiner (the mining software on the Solo) to mine to your pool of choice will be provided. Note: The Solo Uno can be setup to mine on any SHA-256 based pool, be it for pool or solo mining (bitcoin, bitcoin cash, digibyte, etc, etc). See here for a list of mineable SHA-256 coins: https://offerup.co/faYXKzQFnY?$deeplink_path=/redirect/. The whole system is based on a Raspberry Pi Zero running Linux with in built wifi which allows the whole unit to be totally self contained with the exception of needing a power socket for the included international power supply and wifi. You do not need a dedicated computer or laptop to run this. All you need is wifi and a power outlet. Attached to the Raspberry Pi is a GekkoScience Compac F USB miner which sits comfortably at around 300gh/s mining speed. Mounted to the front of the raspberry pi is an OLED screen showing realtime data pulled from CGMiner running a script I wrote as well as a status "Mining In Progress" animation for entertainment and screen saver value. The script is pulling realtime data from the CGMiner webpage found at the IP address of the miner itself (webpage screen shot shown). I have designed a custom PCB (shown with the "SOLO" logo printed on it) which handles the power distribution within the unit. This allows the fan, pi and Newpac to have the power they all need to run at optimum performance. The screen shows the units IP Address, Current Hash Rate, Best Share submitted (since the unit has been powered on) and If you have found a block (worth £200k or so). - Note - The "Best Share" information is purely information only. The idea is that you can see how close you have (or havent come) to hitting the target to mine a block. The target is essentially the network difficulty. The network difficulty is curently approx' 27.5 trillion (27,500,000,000,000). Network difficulty can be found here: https://offerup.co/faYXKzQFnY?$deeplink_path=/redirect/ I have included this stat for a bit of fun, I quite like sitting at my desk in the morning and seeing what's been going on. Closest I have managed to get with the SOLO Uno on my desk is 3 Trillion. Quite a way off! However, someone genuinely has mined a block in the last few months using a Gekko Science Compac F Miner USB miner so it most definately is possible! When the unit is power cycled all stats reset. The standalone miner "The Solo", as I have called it, has been designed from the ground up in CAD. The design has been 3d printed and laser cut elements have made up the mirrored base and the clear acrylic lid. The Solo can be run with the lid removed if you'd prefer that particular aesthetic. I have incorporated a 5v ducted fan which forces air over the fins of the Compac F and out of the enclosure for forced cooling. It is advised to not overclock the miner any more than 300gh/s as the USB stick will fail and die if the fan ever fails. The airflow has been tuned and optimised in CAD to reducing any turbulence and standing hot air. As the rasperry pi is running the Raspian operating system and the mining program 'CGMiner' takes care of the mining, you are welcome to inspect any and all of the source code and the runnings of the system, it is all open source. All I have added to the equation is a very simple script to display data on the screen. It pulls approx 15w at the wall. The unit comes with a power supply.
