Vintage 20” Fenton 12 Finger Hobnail Milk Glass Stretched Swung Glass Vase Milk Glass Vase made by Fenton Glass Company. The pattern is Hobnail. It is in excellent condition; no chips and no cracks. Height is 20”. This stretched swung vase has 12 fingers at the top of the vase and a footed base. Swung vases are made by pressing molten glass into a mold, and then, while the glass is still hot, the glassblower swings it in a pendulum motion to elongate and stylize the neck. This process uses gravity and centrifugal force to create a unique, one-of-a-kind shape, as each piece will have variations based on the swinging technique, the glass's temperature, and elasticity This piece would be the centerpiece of any milk glass or Fenton glass collection. It may also be of interest to anyone who collects the hobnail pattern or swung vases.
