Vintage flag purchased originally in Japan in 1980. Measurement: 27.5" x 39" Japanese Linen with Leather corner that holds string attachment for hanging. Japanese cultural significance in a variety of current contexts; Military Defense Forces, Child Birth, Seasonal Celebrations, and Fishing. The flag is also historically controversial due to its use during World War II by Japanese Navy. South Korea has lobbied to have it banned.
