MINT! Boston Acoustics CR8 - poly caps in signal path & woofer frames dampened. A classic bookshelf!

I have two pairs of absolutely mint Boston Acoustics CR8 speakers. Price listed is per pair. Sequential serial numbers. They are covered in the rarer cherry veneer which is just stunning. They look and sound much higher end than they have any right to. Crisp, clear and balanced – with truly excellent bass response. These are a classic 7 inch two-way vintage speaker using Boston Acoustics excellent (and newly developed at the time) silk dome tweeter used in their far more expensive speaker lines. You don’t have to take my word for how superb they sound. Here’s what one of the former product execs at Boston Acoustics had to say about these speakers: “I was Director of Home Audio Product Development at Boston Acoustics from 1(contact info removed), so I can tell you something about these speakers. The original CR series (Compact Reference) was introduced in Dec 1994, as the replacement to the HD series. The CR7 was a favorite of BA’s president, Andy Kotsatos. For an inexpensive speaker using pretty ordinary components, it sounded truly excellent, with great balance and a very smooth FR. My favorite in the line was the CR8, which really did do the “where’s the sub” trick pretty well, especially for a 7” woofer. That 1” tweeter was smooth as could be and that was a great speaker. As I do with all my speakers I have dampened the woofer frames with about a pound of plastic-clay. This greatly improves midrange clarity in this model speaker. The bass remains tight and extended. I have two pairs in identical mint condition for sale. I have one pair of the cast magnesium speaker stands shown in the picture that I will sell with one or both pair of speakers for $30.
