Description
1966 Airline 7270 in that iconic red and white finish. The same model pictured with Jack White of The White Stripes. It appears to be all original. The pot codes all date to 1966. The original beat up chipboard case is included. Plays very well. All controls function as they should. No scratchy noise from the pots or switches. It would not hurt to replace the output jack, but the original jack does function as is. It has scratches and wear consistent with its age, but nothing that affects functionality. The D tuner has a bent shaft, but still turns and holds tune. There is a small crack at the lower pickguard screw, which is common for guitars this age. There is some overspray visible on the neck near the nut. I believe it is from the factory, because I have seen other examples with the same overspray. Also note the areas where the paint appears to have reacted with a rubber covered stand. Very clean. The fretboard has been cleaned, conditioned, and lemon oiled. The frets show no wear and have been polished to a mirror finish. Set up with new Super Slinky strings. Low action and the intonation is spot on.
