Description
An early 20th century Nichols And Stone Barrel Back Windsor stained ArmChair. Very sturdy. Good vintage condition. Height 34" Width 24" Depth 17.5" Seat Height 18". The chair features a saddle seat, which is a seat that is shaped to be comfortable and ergonomic. The Nichols and Stone Barrel Back Windsor Armchair originated in Gardner, Massachusetts, a town known for its furniture making history and home to the Nichols and Stone company until its acquisition by Stickley. While the Windsor style itself dates back to England in the early 1700s, the factory-produced, barrel-back design by Nichols and Stone is a product of the early 20th century. These chairs are known for being sturdy, well-made pieces of factory-produced furniture designed for longevity. Pickup on hwy 58/ Mahan Gap Rd area.
