~ These vintage porcelain Shishi/Komainu Guardian Lion Foo Dogs are a collectible item from Japan. Intricately designed and signed by Yoshimi K, showcasing traditional Japanese craftsmanship. The Shishi/Komainu Guardian Lions, also known as Foo Dogs, are symbolic protectors that are commonly seen in Japanese culture and art. These statues are a representation of strength, courage, and protection, making them a valuable addition to any collection of Asian figurines. ~ Made in Japan ~ One measures approximately 6" tall 6" long, and the other measures approximately 5.75" tall x 6.75" long. ~ In excellent condition overall • no cracks or broken pieces • may show minor signs of wear from age • NOTE: if you shake the one on the left it sounds like there’s something (very small) inside. Don’t know what it is and I can’t see it to get it out. (Nothing visibly broken on the outside and this is only noticeable if you shake it and listen for it - just wanted to make sure it was mentioned!)
