Description

Docis 3.1 cable modem, capability of up to 10 Giga Bits Per Second. I used it briefly before upgrading to Comcast For Business service. Bought it earlier this year, it sat most of that time. I hooked it up to try the Gigabit service from Xfinity finally and then tried C4B and liked that better, that service comes with a modem and dedicated IP line, so I don’t need this anymore. Comes with modem, power supply, CAT5e Ethernet cable, a length of coax cable, and a splitter. One note: The blue upload / download lights work differently than on the DOCIS 3.0 modems by Arris previously. This stumped Comcast technicians as only download blue light lights up even at 1 gig speeds as it’s not 1 gig upload most likely, your situation may differ. Great Modem, reliable. One other note, you can access the modem page with IP 192.168.100.1 on your network to see the signal strengths and locked channels. Do some research on signal strength and noise and attenuation and amplifiers if you have issues with your service, you can get a good amp if you have lots of connections , Comcast installed a commscope csmapdu5vp to correct my signal loss. This is very helpful, as is CAT6A cabling even though it is not technically needed. Also, just because you may have gigabit speed for example doesn’t mean you have a open freeway on the road so to speak, most service agreements say “up to ..... mbps” this is because consumer grade internet is shared bandwidth. (Why I switched to business) So speed tests can be confusing. Happy Buying! Thanks!
