Description

I bought this item for home decor in 1980. I can’t say if this is antique original from around the 18th century or a reproduction. There are no visible markings on the piece. The carved wooden handle is 27” long, total length with pan is 38 1/2”. Copper pan is 11” x 2 1/2” deep. The top shifts side to side a bit. It will clean up nicely with a copper cleaner as I have done so in the past. When reading up on this item all the characteristics of being authentic are present. I just can’t verify it. Hot embers would have been placed in the pan which then would be placed under a raised bed to warm or dry out the bedding. Enjoy!
