This luminous abstract holds secrets too deep for the human eye to penetrate – at least at first. Sib (십), meaning 10 in Korean, is the key to 10 paintings beneath the surface. The painting is a reflection on charged moments in history and our emotional response to them and to each other. Each layer of the painting represents one decade, starting in 1917 and working toward the present.
