Description
This hand-carved wood sculpture depicts a Lakota Sioux chief and his wife. It is one of the early works by Ronald Adamson, Western sculptor and wood carver famous for his bronze Winslow, Arizona statue commemorating "Take it Easy" by The Eagles. I purchased this up in Vancouver, B.C. back in the late 1990's and have had it hanging on my wall ever since. It's a solid piece full of fine, intricate detail of the dressings and weathered faces of the Lakota pair, conveying their stern authority across time. It's sizeable at 22.5 inches tall and will stand out in any room. This will be a great addition to the art collection of someone who appreciates natural materials, hand-crafted workmanship, and the spirit of the American West.
