If you are not familiar with TEC (Thermal Engineering Corporation) grills please read this. You may have seen chinabroil grills in the big box stores claiming to be “true infrared” and supposedly stainless steel. In actuality, those grills use regular burners and just a metal shield to create their so-called infrared effect. And if you have ever owned one you know that the “stainless” is really just super low grade junk that corrodes away in a year or two. TEC grills are made in the United States in Columbia SC. They are REAL 304 high-grade (non-magnetic) stainless steel construction throughout. More important, they utilize REAL infrared heating with a genuine infrared burner that produces fast high heat for great searing. This particular grill is in really nice shape. I have cleaned it up pretty thoroughly as you can see. The infrared system is actually pretty easy to maintain since there is a sheet of special high heat glass (similar to a smooth top electric range) that rests above the infrared burner. The super high heat incinerates most drips and after it cools can be cleaned in your kitchen sink with a razor scraper or the same cleaner and special scrubber pad you use on a smooth too range.
