Lovely Repurposed Vintage Farmhouse Shabby Chic Plant/Flower Stand/Table. Meet Haley! So, the story behind this piece Is something that we talk about on many occasions, and that Is taking something and repurposing It extending Its use and purpose. Here, for this piece, we used the legs of a 7 foot farmhouse table that was huge. It actually had four of these columns/legs. This has been lying around for a while, like most things, and today was the day to turn these beautiful Imperfect legs Into a functional purpose to live on It's journey. The column and legs were a dark brown stain color and had to be sanded down. Next, a beautiful old white chalk paint was applied, bringing out her pretty character and personality. Next, her gorgeous metal paw foot tips were painted In a gold leaf type of paint, further accentuating her appearance. To make use of this piece It was decided that a top shelf be added, and the one used was actually from another project and looked great on the legs. It was just the right size and simple enough. The top was then painted, and a decoupage tissue of Queen Elizabeth was added to give a bit of romance and allure to the piece. The decoupage Image was then sanded and distressed to make her feel nostalgic and authentic. The Idea was to make It appear to be aged and worn from use. The entire piece was then sealed In awater-basede polyacrylic for protection and sheen. She's both imperfect yet elegant In nature. She brings wonderful vibes and her aura loving. Love her simplicity and the fact she was made using andcrepurposing old pieces lying around. That's what It's all about, taking something that was used for something else and reinventing It to be something else. There something so beautiful and charming about It. Now, for Haley, her use and function can be used anywhere for anything. Place her In a corner, along a wall, as an end table, In any space and room. Use her to greet guests and yourself In an entryway/foyer. Place her In hallway with a mirror/picture/old window above her. Place plants/flowers on her for grandeur. Her visual presence Is thought provoking and Innocent. Love that she Is Imperfect with Imperfections that are part of her character. Her design and lines are symmetrically gratifying.
