Fabulous large vintage blue lapis and semi precious gemstone globe with compass and Gold tripod stand. Over 1500 hours of work and meticulous carving. This is an older one as you can see from the workmanship. There are no squared off edges and the globe is sized with correct proportions. Hand-carved from jewelry-grade semi-precious gemstones, the gemstones on each globe are indigenous to the country that they represent. The globe consists of more than 46 different gemstones. The compass is in full working order. The size of this one is larger size available. The globe itself is 13" in diameter. The cuts are true to the actual country itself rather than squared off like the newer ones. This globe is stunning! Circa late 20th century. Excellent pre-owned condition.
