Rare beautiful antique French wall clock from 1800s with glass face and ebonized mother of pearl design. Have seen these selling for $300 - $1,500. Inlaid mother of pearl bezel forming floral patterns marked Etienne Brunel Mont Brison. Antique French Oeuil de boeuf (Bull's Eye) wall clock with gilt painted bands alternating with black around the case, includes key and pendulum. The Oeuil de beouf often occurs as the eye over the archway, and symbolizes wisdom. 24 inches tall by 19 inches across. This is a fine example of a French Morez picture frame clock. The Morez picture frame clock is the quintessential French country wall clock. These clocks were mostly made in and around the town of Morez which is located in the Comte region of France. These clocks take their name from the “frame” which is typically curvy and encloses an intricate design and the dial. The dial indicates the establishment and location of the retailer. France - 1(contact info removed) Black lacquered wood. Napoleon III period /late 19th. This clock has not been tested so being sold as-is.
