On that same non reclining recliner, there are some cat scratches, but honestly they aren't noticeable unless you know where they are and are looking for them. If it truly bothered you, I'm sure a throw blanket over the arm would cover them. All USB ports work. This has truly been one of the most comfortable couches I've ever owned.
