Otherwise, apart from minor cosmetic differences and identifiers, this entry-level model effectively is the same as the earlier, higher-end iPod touch (5th Gen) models. Likewise, apart from different identifiers, no rear "iSight" camera, and no support for the iPod touch "loop," this model is essentially the same as the subsequently introduced 16 GB iPod touch 5th Gen introduced in 2014. All iPod touch (5th Gen) models have a 4" (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch IPS "retina" display with a 1136x640 native resolution (326 ppi), a front-facing 1.2 megapixel "FaceTime HD" 720p camera (again, note that this model lacks a rear camera) -- and support for Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11n Wi-Fi (both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies), Siri, and AirPlay in addition to the expected music, photo, video playback,and iOS app functionality. All iPod touch (5th Gen) models are powered by a 1 GHz dual-core A5 processor and have 512 MB of RAM. Battery life on all configurations is an Apple-estimated 40 hours of music playback and 8 hours of video playback.
