GAS Son of Ampzilla Stereo Amplifier 80 WPC For PARTS or RESTORATION

For sale is a rare G.A.S. (Great American Sound) Son of Ampzilla stereo amplifier. This amp was designed by famed engineer James Borgiono - he worked for Marantz, Dynaco, SAE, SUMO Electric, Great American Sound Company (GAS), Constellation Audio and Spread Spectrum Technologies (SST). His units have a cult following and chances are if you are reading this you already know. The unit for sale powers on but needs some repair. I have taken this into a tech who has pointed out several issues, here are his notes: "...Predriver stage is open on the right channel, there are 2 burnt resistors that act as current limiters for that stage, and the general recap of the driver board for each channel, all are heat damaged." He also mentioned that there are no signs that this has been worked on or repaired - something that is preferred. I tested this unit out before I sent it in to my tech and there were two major faults I noticed: 1) The right VU meter is responsive to signal but is stuck in the position shown in the pictures. 2) It sounds fine at first, but eventually there is static/distortion in the right channel.
