We bought a 2018 Honda Accord Sport at a very reasonable price. Our sales person, AJ, was fantastic.  AJ was knowledgeable, pleasant, not pushy at all.  The buying process went smoothly.  We are satisfied customers and I highly recommend ABS located in Fairfax Va.

I’ll describe my experience with AUTO BUYING SERVICE of Fairfax, Va. as extremely Disappointing .  Unfortunately, I did an online transaction with “AUTO DEALER SERVICE” located in Fairfax Virginia.  I’m wondering or at least hoping that this is an isolated incident. and not the current state of the Used Car on line Industry.
I understand the general assumption when buying used will be “BUY AS-IS”. But there has to be some consideration and/or adjustment for these on-line purchases.
Purchasing "On Line” relying on the detailed descriptions and reports for the vehicle along with the honesty and integrity of the salesman. Many things can happen during that chain of custody, time and distance.  I’m not saying that this company is nefarious but I’m sure there are some out there and this needs to be regulated.
In my particular case, guarantees and promises were made.The salesman assured me of the vehicle’s 92 out of 100 point inspection service and that all parts were in good working condition.  And the vehicle displayed current Virginia Inspection sticker on the windshield. Again my culpability, assuming the representative of AUTO BUYING SERVICE of Fairfax, Va., with the mechanical and diagnostic technologies of today, would be well aware of their product’s current condition.  Especially knowing that the vehicle is about to be unleashed onto the highways and byways amongst thousands of unsuspecting motorist and travelers just trying to get from point A to point B.
And I’m sure he wouldn’t represent untruths just to get a sale.
Other concerning details include, although the paperwork was initiated on 03/16/2024, the vehicle was not delivered until 03/31/2024 Easter Sunday afternoon. The vehicle was the wrong color. It was filthy, and polluted with dog hair and cigar smoke throughout the vehicle. Too many mechanical  and electrical problems to list, up to and including,  A squealing sound  from the engine so loud it could be heard inside as well as outside the vehicle. The clocks were stopped.
The rear Air System did not work at all. The touch screen didn’t work at all, therefore you could not make any adjustments.  The next day we observed large plumes of black, blue and gray smoke pouring out of the exhaust which turned out to be over $2,000.00 worth of New High Pressure Fuel Pumps. (Apparently the first of many repairs)
Hence, my phone call to management. There initial response was, “Purchased As-IS”.  When presented with the text messaging evidence, he reinforced his response with AUTO DEALER SERVICE of Fairfax Virginia provide and include in all of their contracts approx. 50 pages of instances guaranteeing their “As-IS” policy for all of their customers to sign.  Assuring none of their vehicles would be sold without the acknowledgement of “Buying As-Is", which apparently relieves them from any and all promises, guarantees, assurances, culpabilities and responsibilities of their sold product.
The fact of the matter is the “AUTO DEALER SERVICE OF FAIRFAX VA.” salesman promised free delivery as well as a “3 month/4,500 miles warranty at no additional cost.  And when provided with the text messages, the Manager refused reneging on the agreement
Consumers, BUY AS-IS is just another way of saying “BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK.”  There are lives at risk when you put that vehicle out on the road at 70 MPH. What’s the price tag for that sacrifice?  We’ll just tell that grieving family, “hey he bought that vehicle AS-IS."

UPDATE:  After weeks of negotiation with my Attorney, I was offered a warranty. After a diagnostic check of the vehicle, The warranty company refused to pay for the repairs because the damage was done prior to my purchase.
And please don’t think that the system is going to work for you. With Lawyer and Court fees, It cost more than the repairs.

I have left two negative reviews on this establishment but since deleted them trying to give some grace. I am re writing this review and will not delete it this time.

Approaching 3 months of purchasing my vehicle from them and still no tags. I haven’t gotten a courtesy call updating me, but instead has had to call continuously being met with empty promises.

This isn’t my only issue but I will not go in detail regarding that because this review would be an essay at that point. My final straw was today as I called around 12pm and was given a number to text for an update and was promised a response. Here I am today writing this at the end of the business day with no response.

Imagine your little brother buying his car a month and a half after you and receiving his tags and title within a two-three week process but here I am still tag-less and title-less. I’m a pretty easy going customer and just ask for some sort of communication.

What is even more insane is that their customer service is pretty good. They just lack execution and courtesy which is why I’m writing this review.

Please learn from my mistake, take head to their reviews on other platforms, and avoid this business. If there was a zero star option I still wouldn’t be satisfied because they deserve negative stars.

We bought a car from over 1,000 miles away. I called and Shaheer picked up the phone. He overnighted documents and the next day I had already purchased the car. He scheduled the shipment of the car and got me a good deal on that as well.he gave me updates every step of the way.  I will vouch for this place and Shaheer any day.

I never thought I would enjoy the “car buying experience”, but auto buying service changed my mind! They have a no pressure sales or financing environment and the associates I talked and worked with were great and treated me like a friend. The team was responsive to my requests and answered my, often times, dumb questions. I highly recommend going here if you’re looking for a used car at any price change (entry level to exotic)! I look forward to working with this team when I look for my next car. Shoutout to Russell and Mo for helping me out!
