Description
Novelty vintage © MAFCO Scottish Terrier pin/lapel. Likely from the mid-20th century. Made popular in 1940 when President Franklin D. Roosevelt adopted his Scottish Terrier, Fala making the breed an icon of the era. The only flaw is that the patches of white in the dogs fur are faded/wearing off. I've included a sample picture, labeled "Example!" of one without the white worn off. Other than that it's in excellent condition. It's base metal is likely zinc, alloy or, iron that is electroplated with a silver toned finish (photos look gold toned due to lighting) and topped with a detailed enamel design. The clutch is most likely not the original! I did research and these pins were sold with the more common butterfly clutches. The one it has now is a high quality security clutch called a ball locking clutch or a jewelry clutch that is made to prevent loss of the pin. These are commonly used for more valuable pieces. To remove the clutch you must pull the little ball while simultaneously pushing down on the body of the clutch! Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns! NOTE!:All sales are final and all prices are negotiable! All of the information I have stem from online sources found through research! If I have bad information feel free to let me know and if you're interested we can adjust pricing accordingly! Thank you!
