Description
Selling my custom theater projector screen stage The basic dimensions: 9' 9.5" x 4' x any height you need. Art Deco style woodworking, acoustically dead (very very dead), can fit up to a 115" acoustically transparent (AT) and removable screen (not included), surrounded by GOM acoustically transparent black fabric. The proscenium at the top conceals 5 dimmable and automatable curtain lights, and quiet hardware for a automatable/remote controlled roll-up curtain. You supply the curtain, the rest is there including the remote. The stage can accommodate a huge variety of speakers (I had JTR Triple 12's) and will sound outstanding with OC703 panels (not included) custom fit above, to the rear, and sides to ensure the sound remains crystal clear. A dedicated stage such as this really brings the viewer deep into the movie and takes the experience up several notches. The stage is nearly 10' in width by just short of 4' deep, and almost 88" tall, but any height is possible in your particular setting. It was hand built by me with the help of craftsmen level woodworkers out of birch ply and solid cherry from rough stock across hundreds (trust me) of hours. This is an heirloom quality piece of furniture and theater equipment and dropped jaws when folks would enter the room. The stage has tasteful Art Deco styling cues, and is made of birch ply trimmed in with the solid cherry. The base is constructed with multiple layers of quality plywood. Varied thicknesses were used in conjunction with acoustic "gel", gaps sealed, and cavities insulated to ensure the base did not resonate, amplify, etc., and remained as acoustically dead as possible. It worked. It's a tad heavy but is indeed "dead". The top of the base is covered by flat black paint, then black cotton batting, followed by black GOM material and finished with stained ¼" round trim on the front (viewable) side. The top (proscenium) of the stage is held in place by multiple flat black 2x4's that can be cut or replaced to accommodate your specific room height. The proscenium is well engineered, and held up by all of the 2x4's. I used several acoustically isolated anchors to ensure nothing would happen in the event of an earthquake, children, etc. The lighting and image from the projector does not illuminate the rear of the stage detectably to the eye with an AT screen in place, and everything back there remains secretly hidden away. Of course you could install additional lighting in the rear section to be able to showcase your hidden equipment.
