1997 Suzuki LS650 Thumper - RYCA Cafe Racer Motorcycle Bike

I’m 6’-4” and weigh 230 pounds and this thing rips through town with me on it. If you’re looking for the classic cafe racer style bike without the hassle of old engine maintenance, this one’s for you. It’s built off of a Suzuki Savage lightweight cruiser frame accompanied by its perspective single-cylinder 650cc motor. Don’t let the size fool you, this LS650 motor is one of the largest displacement single cylinder motorcycle engines in production. The complete RYCA cafe racer kit was installed by a local shop along with a top-end engine rebuild. The kit was roughly purchased for around $4000 but doesn’t include build cost, donor bike, paint, and all the extra add-ons that were not spared for this build. In the process of all this, 60lbs of the original bike weight was lost giving it a ride experience best described with ambiguous spectrums ranging between spirited and robust. While it’s guaranteed to get looks everywhere it goes, if it is not at first seen, it will then definitely be heard….it’s loud but not deafening loud. Paint is in excellent condition, tires have a little less than 2k miles on them, and battery is new as of a couple months ago. There are two minor negatives including the horn was never wired and the speedometer has been working off and on. UPDATE: Replacing broken speedo cable for speedometer, ordered new from RYCA, have in hand, and replacing this weekend. Forgot to mention it comes with RYCA maintenance book as well. I’m moving to Georgia within the next few months and I’m reluctantly selling this to downsize my arsenal of toys. Not happy about it and hate to see it go.
