So I will begin by saying the guy we were dealing with was pleasent and the environment is friendly.

Though they did try to get us into a car we were told we need 5k or more down and some of the vehicles we looked at still needed some work. For instance one truck didnt have a lock on the inside of the driver's door, the panel on the back of the seat was popping off, there was a huge gap from the seat in the middle and the panel that made ot uncomfortable for my kid to sit there (her legs should have bent at the knee but because of this gap her legs were being held up by the panel), and where the inside lights are the whole plastic piece was hanging. So most things could be fixed with proper clips or glue if you want that permanent fix. No offers on taking the price down on all the cosmetic/functionality fixes or saying that it was taken into consideration for pricing. Either way nothing that really stood out. We kept getting the run around, like being told what to look at, and told they were working on getting us approved. They refused to work on the down payment, which was going to be through an auto loan we were already approved for and ready to go, so it was up to them (not the auto loan) how much of the down payment was needed. They kept trying to get us interested in other vehicles, which I understand is part of it, but none fit what we needed or wanted as a payment.

Anyways we ended up leaving empty handed, no hard feelings - til we found out how many times our credit was pulled. Twice for mine, three times for my husband. Mine said HARD pulls, im not sure about his. I NEVER signed anything saying they could do so. I went inside once to give details and that was it.

The next day we went somewhere else and we were approved. For 1000 down, which is what we were trying to do here (And were told that we wouldn't get that anywhere). For a newer vehicle with less miles. Moral of the story, look elsewhere. If you decide to do business, thoroughly check the vehicle and dont get blinded by the fact you were given approval.

Side note, while me and kids were sitting in a vehicle for about 10 minutes because something was wrong on the paperwork the older man just opened the door and acted like he had no idea we were in it, to get the test drive plate out of the window. Weird and creepy. Like who does that? He didnt have the basic skill of politeness to at least tap on the door or motion for me to roll down the window.  No worries, We will not be returning.

DO NOT TRUST TRADEUP - Sold Me a Car That Broke Down the Same Day!

As a 22-year-old recent college graduate, I trusted this dealership and spent my savings on what I thought was a reliable car — and now I’m facing around $10,000 in repair costs just to have a working vehicle. This has been an incredibly stressful, discouraging, and very expensive experience.

I bought a 2018 Honda Accord from TradeUp on August 2, 2025, and it broke down the very same day I brought it home. The day I bought it, the car wouldn’t start, and it began overheating almost immediately. When I took it to a certified Honda dealership, they found a cracked engine cylinder and a blown head gasket, estimating repairs at more than $10,000. The technician even advised me that it was certainly sold to me in that condition, and I should return the vehicle.

After the purchase, the owner, Brandon Walker, directed me to his other business, Precision Auto Tune on Gunbarrel Road, for a fresh oil change. While I was there, I overheard one of the mechanics under my car mention concerns about the vehicle’s condition.

I was in direct contact with Brandon Walker to resolve the issue, but after I shared Honda’s diagnostic report, he stopped responding to my text messages and attempts to contact him entirely. Since then, I’ve filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Tennessee Attorney General’s Consumer Affairs Division, but TradeUp has remained unresponsive to both claims.

If you’re considering buying from TradeUp, DON’T!

I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through what I have and am still dealing with to this day.

First time buying a car on my own and it was a pretty smooth experience. Test drove the car and fell in love with it almost immediately. Hearing them say I was approved almost made me wanna cry on the spot. 2020 Kia at 21 years old!

I went In looking for a quote on a car I was looking at, instead of that car, I got a newer model and really low monthly payments, even though I was there for a long time, beth stayed late with me 2-3 hours past closing, and got me my car, I'm so pleased with them, they are quick and efficient, I will be recommending them to everyone, and if you get a car from them, and a friend or someone tells them about you. You get $200 back, it's amazing, so put me a referee and you and I could both get $200 back!
