Update#2:

Car Broke Down Under 500 Miles and Zero Empathy from Management
I am writing this updated review because I am appalled at the lack of customer service from both AutoNation and BMW of Carlsbad. I purchased a used vehicle from them, and it broke down in less than 500 miles.
When I reached out for help, the general manager was of no help and showed no empathy for my situation. It's clear that their interest ends the moment you sign the paperwork. This dealership, and by extension AutoNation, will sweet-talk you into a purchase but will leave you high and dry when a serious problem arises.
The salesman, Farris, also proved to be a major disappointment. While he seemed helpful during the sale, he ignored my calls for help as soon as the car broke down. He is the epitome of a slimy car salesman who only cares about the commission, not the customer.
This experience has been a complete nightmare, and I would strongly advise anyone to stay away from BMW of Carlsbad and any AutoNation dealership. They are not to be trusted.

Update#1:

Vehicle broke down 500 miles into my purchase. Had the vehicle towed to the nearest Alfa dealership 2 hours away. Although this is not the salesman’s fault I’m disappointed in AutoNations certified inspections. Likely they don’t do any extensive inspection. Waiting to see how long I need to wait for my vehicle.

I recently purchased a BMW from BMW Carlsbad, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the entire experience.

A huge thank you to Ferris Al-Kourainy and PJ, who were both incredibly helpful, professional, and attentive throughout the entire process. They took the time to understand what I was looking for, answered all my questions with patience, and made the experience feel smooth and pressure-free.

Also, appreciation to Reag in the finance department — he made the paperwork process fast and easy, explained everything clearly, and ensured I was comfortable with the terms.

The car was exactly as advertised and in excellent condition. Everything from the test drive to final delivery was seamless.

I just recently purchased a 2025 BMW M440i Gran Coupe from BMW of Carlsbad and it took a village to make it happen, but I wanted to shoutout most notably my guy Matthew Worley!

I one day put in an inquiry online and had the pleasure of working with him. He helped me secure a build on one when I called over 20 dealerships to secure my dream car with my vision and spec! He helped me secure the last allocation for this production cycle and didn’t just tell me no when everyone else said it was too late. This was back in May. We have been working with each other for 3 months and finally this past Thursday, August 7, 2025, my car was here from Germany and I purchased it.

He helped me get an approval as a 1st time buyer, answered all of my questions and was incredibly responsive the whole time with updates and phone calls 1x a week. He even accommodated me by coming in on his off day, staying late and sacrificing time with his family to help finish what we started! He then still took care of me by answering my questions and helping me get set up with bluetooth, showing me how the key card works, the myBMW app, I mean the whole 9 and took pictures when it was nearly midnight. You can’t ask for a better salesperson who truly cares about his craft and that shows in his work. He is knowledgeable, transparent, honest and genuine, a rare commodity in any facet of life! He will now be my go-to guy and an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a car whether or not it is a BMW! I’m immensely grateful to him! Matthew Worley
