To remove the laptop from the docking station, the user turns the separate key - The user does not need to remove the cable lock from the ThinkPad Mini Dock Series 3 docking station. For ThinkPad L412 and L512 models: The ThinkPad Mini Dock Series 3 dock audio ports are inactive, ThinkPad audio ports are active. ThinkPad L421 is not compatible with ThinkPad Mini Dock Series 3. ThinkPad Mini Dock Series 3 does NOT support earlier ThinkPad models: R60, R61, R400, R500, T60, T61, T400, T500, W500, Z60, Z61
