Description

Overview: Up for sale is an original color aquatint on Japanese Washi paper by noted Indian artist, Kaiko Moti (1(contact info removed)). It is pencil-signed at lower right and numbered (63/120) at lower left. This particular print is titled "Les Arbres" (The Trees). The print is exceptional, with an eerie resonance and beauty to it. The only other copy of this aquatint I've seen listed is selling for $1,000 online. Moti was born in Bombay in 1921. He studied in London and eventually moved to Paris in 1950. Moti is one of the premier engravers of the 20th century. He has numerous auction records. Condition: Aquatint is in excellent condition. Frame is in good to very good condition. The matting has moderate toning and staining along the bottom.
