Description

I had this large heater style shield commissioned years ago by Lucas Anshelm from Anshelm Arms in Los Angeles County, California. The shield measures 37 inches in length, 24 inches in width, and about 9 inches in depth including the basket hilt. I cannot remember the exact gauge steel used to craft this shield, but I would assume 16-18 gauge stainless. The shield is bound with riveted naturally finished leather, and includes a naturally finished leather arm tether and what I believe is an aluminum basket hilt with a wooden hand-grip. The shield weighs just over 11lbs or just under 5 kilograms. This shield is left-handed, meant to be wielded in combination with a right-hand weapon. It saw exactly one fight in the Armored Combat division of the SCA, and shows minimal signs of wear. It is a very stout shield capable of withstanding a considerable amount of abuse while protecting its wielder. Please check out my other SCA armor listings! 'm willing to negotiate price.
