Description
Well maintained 2015 GMC Savanah Van with built out interior for van living. I lived in this van for 3.5 years but now have a baby on the way so I need a place for a car seat. The van has a 151,000 miles and runs great. The interior was built by me with a cedar plank roof, plywood and pine cabinetry, and aluminum supports bolted and screwed to the frame. The finish on the wood is waterlox tung oil based finish. Its extremely durable and easy to refinish if its ever necessary. The van has polyiso insulation in the roof and side panels but not the floor (didn’t want to lose too much headspace). The floor is made up of vinyl plank flooring over plywood with a moisture barrier between. This flooring is very durable but there are some spots in the main cabin which are well worn. Power is supplied by a 170 amp hour lithium iron phosphate 12v battery with a dedicated charger and monitor. The battery gets charged through the high output alternator when the van is running. All instruments have proper fuses and wiring and are controlled through an easily accessible switchboard. There is a propex propane heater which keeps the van toasty in the winter. The heater has all combustion gasses piped outside so it is designed and safe to let the heater run for extended periods. There is a propane stove for cooking and a 12v roof vent with fan for ventilation. Propane is a 20 lb bbq style tank housed in a propane locker which is vented to the exterior of the van through the floor in case of leaks (which I have not had any). For added safety, there is a propane detection system which automatically closes the valve on the tank to cut off the supply if propane is detected. There is a 7 gallon jerry can which supplies water to the sink via a foot pump which delivers excellent water pressure and flow rate. The sink is stainless steel and drains into a separate 7 gallon jerry can which can be removed and drained when full. Its been a great van. Not as tall and spacious as a lot of the sprinters but its low profile and doesn’t stand out like they do (great if you need to sleep in a parking lot or on a street). Still, I found the space to be ample for my needs. I mostly traveled around in it skiing and climbing. new (certified rebuilt) transmission at 117,000 miles new water pump, coolant flush, fan clutch, and high output alternator, rear brake pads and new rotors at approximately 140,000 front pads and rotors were done about 1 year ago but still had great life left so I didn’t do them when I did the rear pads and rotors. regular full synthetic oil changes with premium oil filter comes with heavy duty tire chains passenger seat swivels lots of interior cabinets and bulk storage under bed Goodyear wrangler all terrain tires with good tread still Locking thule Roof rack Dimming 12v lights Roof vent with in/out fan provided great ventilation across the bed with the rear windows open Reflectix window covers Platform fits the exped duo megamat mattress (not included) which is 72”x41.3”. Platform is sturdy (im 200 lbs and sleep up there with my girlfriend and occasionally our 50 lb dog) Large bulk storage under the platform is accessible from within the main cabin which also allows for long items (skies, lumber, surfboards) to be transported. Drawers and cabinets have latches to keep them from flying open while driving
