Description

For sale is a vintage pocket cigarette lighter featuring the emblem of Joint Task Force 7, which was a joint military task force involving the Army, Navy, and Air Force. This piece of historical memorabilia is a great addition to any collection, with its unique design and significance in military history. Original Post WWII Era Joint Task Force 7 Operation Sandstone Enewetak Atoll 1948 Atomic Bomb Tests A rather dark and morbid commemorative lighter from American history. The lighter itself appears to be an early 1950s model and enameled insignia and engraving on the reverse. This was more than likely made for a key leader or Officer within Task Force 7 who was there when the 3 Atomic Bomb tests were carried out in 1948 in the Enewetak Atoll. The front of the lighter retains a lovely enameled insignia for the JTF7 which features an atom with ARMY NAVY AIR FORCE AEC around it and JOINT TASK FORCE SEVEN at the bottom. The reverse has a crude map of the region marked with Japanese islands with the header ENIWETOK ATOLL. The bottom is imprinted with Penguin High Quality, Whirlwind, Superlative, Automatic Lighter, https://offerup.com/redirect/?o=UC5OTw==. 19587, Japan. This appears to be a fully functional lighter, but is untested. Lighter is 2.12" tall 1.50" long and .25" wide. Overall appearance is still in good condition. It is sure to be a conversation starter and a prized possession for any military history enthusiast. Add this piece to your collection today!
