Description

This is a gorgeous all-original instrument in excellent working order, ready to plug and play. 1984 Ibanez lr10 from the golden age of Ibanez semihollow jazz guitars made in Japan’s famous Fujigen factory. Note the serial number scheme has the date as first and last number. This is quite rare at this point. A few are listed on Reverb right now in varying condition, from $1500 - $2050. A local shop has one for $1700. Selling this one for $1300 ready to play with no setup required. Comes with lr10 special pickups made by Maxon (each about 12k). The neck pickup is the best clean tone I’ve personally heard from a humbucker. Other specs: Maple/Mahogany/Maple Stunning flame maple top with antique violin color Brazilian (!) rosewood fretboard (Supposedly) ivory binding, in great condition brass nut, which gives it wonderful sustain German-made bridge and tailpiece Smooth turning vintage Ibanez tuners Has some minor nicks and scratches, with a few on the edges of the headstock. The bridge has some oxidization (see photo). A small sliver of the end of the brass nut has chipped away (see photo) but it doesn’t affect performance. One of original f-hole covers with original foam insert remains to dampen feedback. Frets have lots of life left. I was told from the previous owner (who babied this along with his other few dozen guitars) that the owner before him had it for nearly three decades as his main jazz gigging guitar in Nashville. This is the best playing guitar I’ve ever used. It sounds absolutely beautiful clean or with a little dirt. It surprisingly takes heavy distortion quite well, producing a smooth sustain. I’m agonizing over selling this but I bought another guitar and the house rule is one in one out. Comes with non-original Ibanez hardshell case. Cash only.
