Description
Mid-Century Modern (MCM) or Atomic Era ceramic design from the 1950s or 1960s. Decorative Bowl or Dish. It could be used for holding fruit, candy, potpourri, or simply as a sculptural centerpiece. The body of the bowl has distinct vertical ribbing or fluting, and the rim is sculpted into several upward-reaching "prongs" or "petals." This gives it an organic, starburst, or abstract flower-like shape that was very popular in post-war ceramics. This abstract, almost atomic design points toward popular mid-century American pottery companies like California Pottery (e.g., Bauer, Pacific, or possibly an Atlantic Mold piece), though without a mark, it's difficult to be certain.
