Description
Sericho Kenyan/African Pallasite Meteorite Fragment 5.8 grams Name: Sericho Group/Classification: Pallasite Date of Find: 2016 Observed Fall: No Location Found: Near Habaswein, Kenya Location GPS: 1°5’41.16"N, 39°6’8.30"E Total Known Weight: Est. at ~2.8 tons Info compiled from Meteoritical Bulletin Database. Meteorites are rocks from space (nickel-iron or stony-iron or a combo of the two) that date from the formation of our solar system 4.5 billion years ago. Pallasites formed at asteroid mantle-core boundaries when our solar system formed. As the asteroid slowly cooled after multiple impacts, Olivine crystallized within the molten Iron-Nickel metal core & solidified until a later impact shattered the asteroid & sent fragments to Earth. 1cm scale cube, scale & magnets not included. Includes info card as shown. I have been collecting meteorites, tektites & impact breccia from reputable worldwide hunters & dealers for more than 25 years & I am reducing my collection to offer this fine specimen up for sale. Actual item pictured from several angles. Please ask all questions before purchase. Smoke/pet free home. Thank you for looking!
