Description

*1967 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350 Fastback*Shortly after the launch of the Mustang in 1964, Ford approached racing team and car manufacturer Shelby Motors, to help them get the car ready for competition. Although the Mustang is now looked back on as a performance car, it wasn't really viewed that way when it first came out and it took Shelby to really show the potential of the chassis with the first GT350 in 1965. Bringing great success on race tracks around the country, in 1966 the GT350 transitioned from a focused race car, into a performance street variant that you could order through your Ford dealership. In the early stages, all GT350s were finished by hand at Shelby's Los Angeles factory, but as demand began to rise, production was moved back to Ford's Ionia, Michigan plant in May of 1967.This 1967 GT350 was produced on February 27 1967, making it among the final examples built by Shelby American and was delivered new to Dockery Ford in Morristown, New Jersey. Finished in its original shade of Lime Gold, this GT350 was subject to a one and a half year complete rotisserie restoration which included a repaint in the original color. Only 1,174 GT350s were produced in 1967 and of those, only 194 were finished in Lime Gold- which on this car is accented by a pair of wide white over-the-top stripes. The 1967 GT350 is immediately identifiable thanks to its unique front and rear fiberglass facias as well as a fiberglass hood with improved ventilation and a fiberglass decklid with an integrated spoiler. Beautiful 15" Kelsey Hayes MagStar wheels are wrapped in correct looking Goodyear tires and Shelby emblems are emblazoned around the vehicle. The interior is beautiful in its simplicity and looks as good as the day it rolled out of the showroom in Morristown 56 years ago. A pair of black bucket seats are situated up front with two smaller but usable seats in the rear. These are separated by a 2-point roll cage which was new for 1967 and helped add chassis rigidity, without making it difficult to use the rear seats- unlike the 4-point cages found in earlier GT350s. In front of the driver sits a stunning wood rimmed steering wheel that frames the tachometer and speedometer, set within the aluminum dashboard. According to the Marti Report, this car is equipped with the Interior Decor Group which fits the interior with an overhead console with map lights, as well as arm rests in the doors and extra padding for rear seat passengers. Additionally, shoulder harnesses were installed for front seat passengers to keep them in place during aggressive driving.Although the aesthetics were a factor in the GT350's appeal, where things got really interesting was under the hood. Shelby started with a K-Code high performance 289 ci V8 from Ford, which was then topped with an aluminum S2MS high-rise intake and Holley 715 cfm 4bbl carburetor. This bumped power to a reported 306 hp and 329 lb-ft of torque which, when paired with a 4-speed manual transmission like what is found in this car, was good for 0-60 in less than 7 seconds and a top speed of 140 mph. It's clear that this car was originally ordered by an enthusiast because other options selected were Power Disc Brakes, Power Steering and Extra Cooling to ensure that the car could keep up with hard driving. These classic Shelby Mustangs are some of the most sought after cars amongst collectors and this one is in exceptional condition throughout. They are also some of the most well documented cars in the world and this car is on the Shelby Registry and includes both a Marti Report and a Shelby Window Sticker- all of which help verify its identity and provide some excellent history for the new owner to look back on. If you have always wanted a collector grade classic Mustang- this GT350 is without a doubt, the car you have been looking for.View Undercarriage Photos Here...*Additional Information* * Included in Shelby Registry * Marti Report * Shelby Window StickerFor more information on this 1967 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350 or any of our 100+ High-Performance, Exotic and Special Interest cars always in stock, contact one of our friendly and knowledgeable sales consultants or always feel free to drop by our 40,000+ sq ft of Indoor Showrooms in Bellevue, WA - Home of an Exciting Inventory of Luxury, Exotic, High Performance and Collectible Automobiles.
