Description
This is a vintage Anchor Hocking divided relish dish in the classic Cameo (also known as Ballerina or Dancing Lady) pattern. Made from uranium glass, it glows vividly under UV blacklight and features an elegant etched design that remains one of the most popular Depression-era patterns. Type: Relish dish, 3-part divided, footed Pattern: Cameo (Ballerina / Dancing Lady) Diameter: 7.5" (8.5" including handles) Maker: Anchor Hocking Glass Company (originally introduced by Monongah Glass Co., acquired in 1928) Production Years: 1930–1934 The Cameo pattern was first produced by Monongah in the early 1910s under the name Springtime. After Hocking’s acquisition, the design was adapted for machine-pressed production, and the direction of the “dancing lady” was altered to distinguish the new line. Condition: Excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks noted. Displays beautifully with crisp details and a strong uranium glow. History Note: The Anchor Hocking Glass Company (formerly Hocking Glass) was founded in 1905 in Lancaster, Ohio. Known today for its Depression glass, Anchor Hocking helped define the era with patterns like Cameo, which remain highly collectible. A wonderful addition to any uranium glass or Depression glass collection, and a striking display piece.
