All tube preamp (3, 12AX7 tubes), solid state power amp. 350 watts. Lots of nice rear panels features. The main difference between this version compared to the SVT-III PRO, is that the PRO has a toroidial coil transformer, while this original version has a conventional transformer, similar to the traditional SVT head. As well, the tone shaping frequencies of this amp are voiced the same as a traditional SVT head, while the SVT PRO has different tonal characteristics. It's those 2 design characteristics that make this model the most SVT sounding hybrid Ampeg ever produced. Made in the USA, unlike current "off-shore" models. Very desirable. You don't see these very often. Works great.
