Yamaha 2014 8hp Outboard For Sale Part of Yamaha’s “Portable Outboard” series, the 8hp Outboard boasts superior reliability on the water from my experience. Weighing only 87 lbs, it is easily switched from boat to boat or put in storage. Mounting it on even just a 12’ aluminum jon boat as I have will give you a quick plane and relatively fast ride, averaging 20mph with some gear, a partner, and my dog. The motor starts on the first or second pull no matter the outside temperature, and is super quiet, so much so that you hear the cooling water stream hitting the water surface more than you hear the actual engine running at idle. Cosmetically, it has some very minor scratches throughout from normal use. I’ve never had a single issue with the function or performance of the motor. Just this past spring (2024), I had over $900 of preventative maintenance conducted, including flushing of all fluids, replacement of all hoses, new plugs, new belt, new fuses, new impeller, new propeller, etc… it’s pretty much a brand new motor on the inside. It hasn’t been used since that overhaul, only kept in a garage. For the purpose of listing it for sale, I hooked up the fuel tank with fresh fuel, and it started on the second pull.
