Electric Smoker BBQ/Grill The only thing you need for great smoked BBQ meat fest are wood chips, a new Smoker box to hold the wood chips (around $20 @ Fred Meyer) and some meat! You can actually use tinfoil to hold the wood chips instead of buying the fancy stainless steel Smoker box...both work equally well to smoke your meat. I like to place lava rocks and briquettes around the Electric heating elements in the bottom but this is not required for it to work. This Smoker can also be converted very easily to an electric tabletop grill by lifting off the center cylinder walls that make it a Smoker and simply place the grill plate into the bottom, right on top of the electric heating element.
