Description

This vintage Chinoiserie nested table set features intricate polychrome mother-of-pearl inlay depicting figures on a dark lacquer finish. The set consists of multiple tables that stack together for compact storage. The inlaid figures feature hand-painted porcelain faces or detailed mother-of-pearl work. These decorative items are typical of mid-20th-century Chinese craftsmanship. Each table has a thick bevelled glass top that rests on top to protect the specific art work and to allow a formal sense of beauty. The second to largest table glass top broke at one point in time and was $150 just to make another one to replace it....to give you another angle on worth. Hand painted, designed and finished. Each table is unique to itself also showing minor differences such as line or painted designs. Hence it being done all by hand. There are small marks dings scratches and chips from use and handling over time. Overall in very good condition.
