Description
Coin in very good condition This is a 1936 German 5 Reichsmark silver coin from the Third Reich period. Composition: The coin is made of 90% silver. Design: The reverse side features the imperial eagle and the denomination "5 Reichsmark". The obverse depicts Paul von Hindenburg, the second President of Germany. Historical Period: It was minted during the Third Reich era. Mintage: This type of coin was minted at various mints in 1935 and 1936. The "J" mint mark on your 1936 5 Reichsmark indicates it was produced at the Hamburg Mint (Hamburgische Münze). Rarity and Significance For the 1936 issue, the Hamburg Mint had the lowest mintage of all German mints, with only 640,000 coins produced. This makes it a "key date" and significantly scarcer than the Berlin ("A") mint, which produced over 8 million.
