Tankless Water Heater (ECO27)

The EcoSmart ECO 27 tankless water heater has been a huge disappointment across the board. After my first unit broke within 10 months and a replacement failed just as quickly, I was left without hot water and no support from EcoSmart customer service. Their warranty is essentially useless—they claimed they never received my mailed registration paperwork even though I followed all instructions, and the registration process is confusing with no confirmation or transparency. Every attempt to get warranty service was denied, with customer support being rude and continuously citing technicalities to avoid responsibility. Repair attempts were costly and useless as the parts kept failing over and over. To make matters worse, this water heater is expensive to install because it requires a dedicated high-power electrical circuit, often three 40-amp breakers. That translated to hundreds—sometimes thousands—of dollars in extra electrical work above the unit’s sticker price, making the total investment much higher than expected. For a product this unreliable, with abysmal customer service, it simply isn’t worth the time, money, or aggravation.
