Description
Vintage map measurer is constructed from polished metal with a dual-scale dial for inches and centimeters. This Swiss-made tool has a long handle and a small tracking wheel at the tip for tracing map routes. It comes with a green plastic protective case featuring a yellow foam interior. This is a vintage Hamilton Watch Company Model 331 map measurer, also called an opisometer or curvimeter. It was used to measure curved or winding distances on maps, charts, and blueprints. The little wheel rolls along a route and the dial records the distance. The Model 331 is documented as a Hamilton instrument produced for military use during the 1940s–1950s and later for industrial use. * Hamilton Watch Co. Model 331 * Dual scale: 0–39 inches / 0–99 centimeters * Original green presentation/storage box * Very clean-looking dial and metal body
