Description

The Good: -It’s a shovelhead -I was told that the previous owner installed an S&S upper for the motor -I’ve put about $7k into major repairs -Transmission was rebuilt in 2021 -Oil lines were replaced in 2022 -The bike was re-wired in 2022 -Starts right up even if it’s been sitting a while -There’s a big ass spider in an acrylic ball on the shifter lever -Suicide clutches are badass, and this one is connected with a gnarly chain rather than a lever The Bad: -It’s a shovelhead -There was a slight leak from the top of the front piston that would smoke a bit when you shut the bike down after a ride, but when I started it up and rode it around last I found that it was now a major leak. I’m guessing the gasket is shot and I don’t think it should be ridden too far until that’s taken care of. The Ugly: -It’s a shovelhead -Stator and regulator need replacement, I’ve had the stator disconnected because it’s overvolting the system, so I just charge the battery before rides and keep the lights off to keep power draw to a minimum -Rear brake is about useless and needs some TLC -Tanks are rusted and cause the gas filter to fill up quick -The front bolt for the tanks is missing, but they don’t seem to move and I haven’t had any issues with it in the last several years riding it
