This antique wooden rocking chair is amazing! It was purchased from a friend in the 80's. It had a long history in their family and is likely about 150 years old. Originally purchased in New York it later spent many years in Ohio. It was professionally restored about 40 years ago and has virtually never been used since. The wood has a natural distinctive green tone. Internet research shows it is possibly made from greenheart wood. Harvested in South America it is known to be extremely strong and hard - so hard, in fact, that it cannot be worked with standard tools. If you have been searching for a truly special chair then this beauty may complete your hunt. It comes from a pet and smoke free home near Conway Road and Hoffner Road. Thank you for looking!
