I acquired this piece exactly how it is today, Not a contrived piece. I have cleaned it “pretty well”, but could use some additional love. Very sturdy - capable of holding a good amount of weight! A plant, some books and a lamp, should be no problem (obviously the weight and number of each is important). We are centrally located in Tierrasanta - 15-Balboa Exit or 52-Santo Exit. Also, we tend to be out and about in San Diego, so meeting at a different location may be an option.
