Pottery Wheel, Shimpo west, Ringcone Popet

This is a real work horse of a potters wheel! It’s one of Shimpos first models of pottery wheel, and it’s built like a tank! It’s heavy (approximately 140lbs) and has lots of power. These older shimpos are famous for their longevity. Made when companies used quality materials that withstand the test of time. The drive ring and cone are in great shape. The body has had some rust that I’ve mostly scrubbed and sanded out. I’ll throw in some metal primer rust oleum spray paint if you want to paint it to protect the metal, I know some folks prefer the wabi sabi surface of the metal surface and original paint. I’ve lubricated all the moving parts of the pedal configuration so it works smoothly. No splash pan, so it’ll get you good at throwing without too much water. You can buy new splash pans online, or DIY splash pan with a plastic animal feed tub for around $15. Has removable bat pins spaced at the standard 10” across. 12” wheel head. This is a well loved model of wheel that will serve you well.
