Description

Please review the photos carefully. I cannot confirm this is an original George Barrett oil, but the style, subject matter and color tones are correct for his work. There is a partial signature which can be seen in the photos. Additionally, the framing and construction is correct for a pre to early 1800’s work, and there are brackets that looks to have been added at a later date to secure the canvas, stamped with late 1800 dates. This one is a bit of a mystery but definitely very old and an interesting piece.
