Dual CS-1246 Vintage Turntable *Serviced*

Dual CS-1246 was the top of the Dual Automatic line in the late 70's and is one of the preferred models in the Dual lineup for sound quality and operation to this day. Belt drive, 2 speed 33/45, multiple play with stacker spindle (stacker spindle not included here but can be acquired online fairly easily. Single play spindle included as well as 45rpm adapter). As with any 40+ yr old turntable, they need to be properly serviced and set up to perform their best. The following is what was completed in the restoration of this Dual 1246. - Full cleaning and detail of unit, base, turntable, cords and plastic lid.  - New drive belt. - Belt contact area on platter resurfaced and capstan spindle cleaned for smooth operation.  - All areas requiring lubrication cleaned of old, sticky grease and replaced with new.  - Tonearm automatic operation restored with new steuerpimpel. - Muting switch contacts resurfaced and treated against oxidation. Must be completed or you'll deal with poor sound quality and plenty of hum). - Pitch control system disassembled, cleaned, re-lubricated, adjusted and tested. Geared belt in great shape and speed fully adjustable.  - Motor bearings lubed with proper oil (motor is silent). - Main platter bearing sleeve and shaft lubed with proper oil.  - Tonearm bearings lightly oiled and reset. - Tonearm contacts where cartridge sled makes contact completely re-surfaced for best possible connection and noise free operation. Must be done! - Power switch suppression cap checked and ok.  - Fully tested for 100% proper operation and superior sound quality.  A good quality and excellent sounding Ortofon OM10 with genuine stylus is set up on the tonearm. This is a great combination with the low resonance tonearm of the CS-1246. Completely serviced and plug and play vintage Dual turntable.
